2019 DriveML Huawei Autonomous Vehicles Challenge

Autonomous Driving (AD) is the next frontier of artificial intelligence and machine learning. You are invited to participate in a competition organised by a World-leading team in autonomous decision making.

Your goal is to design an autonomous agent that is capable of driving safely and efficiently across a variety of simulated maps. Winners will be announced in a ceremony, where cash price of up to £5,000 will be awarded. You will also get the chance to deliver a spot-light talk during the event. Even better, you could win an opportunity to travel to the Huawei headquarters in China to learn all about their cutting-edge research.

To be eligible you must:

- At the date of submission of the competition entry, be an undergraduate, post-graduate or PhD research student registered at a UK university; and

- Have an email address ending with *ac.uk* through which the Organiser can communicate with the Participant in connection with the competition; 

- Either be single entrant or part of a team of up to a maximum of three (3) members only.

- Be solely responsible for creating the competition submission, though supervision or advice from the Participants’ professors or post-doctoral researchers is permissible.

Fintech for Good

This competition focuses on the use of Finance Services and Technology to promote societal good. Competitors will be asked to form a team of up to 4 members and come up with a proposal for a product or service that intersects all of these. Entrants will be given mentoring, funding and training to support their project. The project winners will receive a £1000 cash prize each.

To be eligible:

- All entrants must be 18 years or older at the date of entry.

- The competition is open to any student currently enrolled in university in the UK, studying during the 2019/2020 academic year. Employees of the promoter (or any associated group company of the promoter) and anyone else connected in any way with the competition or their family members shall not be permitted to enter the competition.

- Only one entry per student is permitted.

- The competition is only open to groups of 2 to 4 members. Individual student entries or groups larger than 4 members are not permitted. 

- On request, any entrant will be required to provide their full name and university email address as proof of their status as a university student.

Next Generation Investor Competition

The opportunity for up to three teams of women undergraduates to learn the nitty gritty of equity investing, overseen by industry experts. Each team will construct a portfolio to invest a
notional £25,000 into listed equities and trade on their portfolio as they see fit.

In order to be eligible, the following must apply:

- You must form part of a team of between two and four women undergraduates

- Teams from any faculty or course can apply. In our view, successful active equity investing is as much an art as it is a science.

- Multiple teams per University can apply, but each individual is limited to applying to only one team.

- No prior experience in investing is expected or required, but demonstrating an interest and passion for learning the ropes is!

Acumen Student Social Innovation Challenge

The Rockefeller Foundation-Acumen Student Social Innovation Challenge aims to equip the next generation of social innovators with the skills, resources, and support they need to tackle problems of poverty. What’s resources are available? 

- Up to $20K in funding

- Guidance and support from a community of experts

- The chance to develop the skills to plan, launch, and scale a successful venture

To be eligible, you must:

- Be part of a team (at least 2 people) with at least one team member actively enrolled at a higher education institution.

- Complete 4 of 5 assignments in the Lean Startup course (including the final assignment) and complete a written application for the Accelerator program. At least 2 team members must complete the Lean Startup course.

- Interview for and be selected to participate in the Student Innovation Accelerator program.

- Participate in at least 7 of 8 Accelerator Learning Labs and submit all assignments, including a final pitch deck (which includes a budget for the funding and a workplan for 3 months inclusive of key milestones and dates).
