Beyond Writing - Inspirational Women!
Beyond Borders Scotland have launched a new creative writing competition series. The first competition theme is Inspirational Women - send in your stories (fiction and non-fiction, poetry, academic essays, anything which inspires you) about inspirational women in people’s lives, celebrated historical or political figures, and galvanizing women who have changed the world!
Each story should be 1,000 words or less.
The winner will receive two free weekend passes to th Beyond Borders International Festival 2019 and a certificate signed by the judging panel. The finalists work will also be published online and they, along with the winners, will be offered a tailored creative writing workshop with author Jean Rafferty from Dove Tales on August 24th and 25th.The winners will also have the opportunity to meet, and receive feedback on their work from one of the headline writers at this year’s festival.

Look out for details of the next two competitions. The themes will be ‘Creative peace’, encouraging people to write about creative methods of conflict resolution or finding peace in conflict situations, and ‘Beyond Borders’, which will look at the way borders intersect around the world, ideological borders that polarise people, geographical borders that separate people, historical borders that create stories of struggle and resilience.

The DMA Talent Marketing Challenge is back with a bang, with Instagram supporting by providing this year’s brief. This marketing challenge gives aspiring marketers the opportunity to work on a real-life brief.
Teams must be between 3-6 people and if successful in making it to the finalist stage, 3 teams will be invited to pitch their ideas to a senior panel of industry judges in London.
